SSDC provides an individualized, highly structured, pro-social, behavior intensive, academic based program designed to evaluate students in crisis and return them to the most appropriate academic setting as quickly as possible. Questions outlined by the student's planning team are answered using appropriate services. Students will meet with our consulting psychiatrist or psychologist during their time at SSDC as referral questions dictate. They will attend the structured school day as outlined by SSDC staff. During this time they will be observed by staff and licensed clinicians in order to determine suitable recommendations.

Following the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks, students are supported and observed in a structured classroom setting in order to develop functional strategies for any potential long term school
placement.

Enveloping each student is SSDC's case management component provided to increase communication across all facets of the student's life. SSDC staff will remain in contact with parents, therapists and other outside agencies in an effort to better serve students, their families, and the referring school district.
